This spectacular castle is located in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. This castle was built in 1333 by Akamatsu Norimura. If you want to go to Himeji Castle in Japan, you just need to go about one kilometer from Himeji Station.

If you want to reach this castle by walking, you may need a 20-minute walk. But, if you go there by bus, you just need 5 minutes. The cost of the bus ticket is only 100 yen.

Open Hours and Fees

Before visiting Himeji Castle in Japan, you have to find out the information about open hours. This way, you will be able to know what time this castle is open and closed. This castle is open for the public from 9 AM up to 5 PM. However, from April to August, this castle is closed at 6 PM.

Make sure that you arrive there earlier so that you can explore the castle. This castle will be closed on 29th and 30th December.

Talking about the admission fee, you only need to spend 1000 Yen if you want to enter the castle. But, if you also want to explore Kokoen Garden, you have to pay 1050 Yen. This fee is still reasonable since you can explore the beauty of White Castle.

You can enter Himeji Castle through Otemon Gate and walk to Sannomaru. This area contains lots of cherry blossom trees. You can see the best view of the castle surrounded by cherry blossom trees. At the end of the bailey, you will be able to find the ticket booth to enter the castle.

2. Enter the castle

After walking through labyrinth-like paths, you will arrive at the castle. You can enter the main castle by climbing upwards narrow staircases. You can find several multilingual signs that explain the architectural features.

3. Explore West Bailey Nishinomaru

After exiting the castle, the visitors can explore Nishinomaru. This place serves as the princess’s residence. The visitors can wander along the corridor. They also can explore unfurnished rooms in the bailey.
